Launch Day is this Friday and beyond the inspiring pitches you'll hear from Cohort 2 of Lean Lab Fellows, there are a few surprises up our sleeve that we want to share with our biggest fans before you come. Don't have a ticket? You should probably get one of those before you read on.
1. All Major Pivots
All of our Fellows applied to the Incubator Fellowship with a basic idea of how to solve a problem or challenge in Kansas City education. And we're proud to say that through the intensive community outreach our Fellows conducted in Weeks 1.0 and 2.0, all of their problem statements changed drastically. Furthermore, all of their solutions have gone through major pivots in design and/or implementation plans as teachers, students, and administrators continue to offer feedback. We can't share much more than that, but you'll learn more about the process our Fellows went through the past 4.5 weeks.
2. 150 Of Your Closest Friends
We believe in the power of community-driven innovation & supporters like you. And if you've engaged with us before, you've probably run in to similarly passionate, engaging KC people. See friends from Barkley, Startup Village, CremaLab, Kauffman Foundation, Think Big, local schools, and of course, our biggest partner, the Sprint Accelerator. Plus, if you're not friends with someone when you walk in the door at 4 PM, you will be by the end.
3. A Major CAll To Action
At The Lean Lab, we like to dream big. We dream of not only creating innovative, excellent solutions for Kansas City students, of not only building a connected community of educators, business leaders, and entrepreneurs, we dream of changing perceptions and altering mindsets around what's possible for Kansas City students and their teachers. You'll not only gain more insight into the process our Fellows went through these past 4.5 weeks, but count on a major call to action to help propel education innovation forward in Kansas City.
4. Wait, One More Friend!
To make the evening complete, we'll have Kansas City's favorite friend: Boulevard beer. Boulevard Brewery has been a major supporter of Lean Lab events, and recently, sponsored a dunk tank to help raise funds for the Incubator Fellowship at July's First Fridays. So come be inspired by our Fellows, enjoy a beer, and continue to help build Kansas City as not only the most entrepreneurial city, but the most education-friendly city in the United States.
Special thanks goes to Lean Lab supporter, Matt Bishop, who volunteered at our dunk tank. He helped us raise over $600. Thank you, Matt!
