'Twas the night before the SWEDU battle...and all across I-70 Missouri,
all innovators were ready, all change-makers were stirring.
Two cities' thumbs were ready to share and tweet with great care,
in hopes that the SWEDU crown would go to them there.
Kansas City scrolled through Twitter all snug in their beds,
while visions of StL toasted ravioli swirled in their heads;
Whilst St. Louis dreamed of KC BBQ, a rib or a rack,
tweeting furiously in an attempt to pick up the slack.
But in a city of Royals, Sly James, and Boulevard beer,
KCMO was ready to win Startup Weekend EDU with no fear.
Their mentors and judges were poised to share edu innovation:
SWEDUKC was the start of a movement beginning to awaken.
For it's no secret that we face edu challenges all around;
but our teachers, students, and YOU have creativity unbound.
In 54 hours, the opportunity for solutions is endless
and we need your help to spread this awareness.
So tomorrow the fourteenth, tweet, like, and share @SWEDUKC,
But don't forget you, too, will be the best attendee;
For in the words of a great educator, an esteemed one named Seuss,
what we want to change is in what we produce:
"Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,
Nothing is going to get better. It's not."
So join KCMO education in the battle to beat St. Louis;
the time to shine is now in a test that is truest.
With your help we can drive educational inequity out of sight,
and with that light task, we bid thee good night.
